Chatham Eighth-Graders Finish 3rd in Country in Physical Science Contest

John Swift scored a perfect 50 to help the team amass 485 points out of 500 in the competition.

Chatham Middle School eighth-graders recently finished third in the country in the annual Physical Science Contest.

Chatham scored a total of 485 points out of 500 in the April contest that was based on factual knowledge and the students' understanding of physical science processes.

The team was comprised of Catherine Nachtigal, Ryan Chase, Lucas Kianpoor, Tom Barrett, Brendan Gage, Thomas Walsh, Matt Jogodnik, John Swift, Eric Tonno and Robert Novak.

Students were selected to the team based on their scores. A score of 49 or higher earned students first team honors. Swift scored a perfect 50 out of 50.
