Chatham Eighth-Grade Science Students Place Third Nationally

Team scored 485 out of 500 points in the Physical Science Contest.

The Chatham Middle School eighth-grade science students recently placed third in a nationwide Physical Science Contest.

The Chatham students earned a cumulative of 485 points out of 500 in the contest, which was based on factual knowledge and the students' understanding of physical science processes.

The last time Chatham finished this high was in 2009. The school will receive a certificate of achievement with the names of the team members from the National Science League.

Students were chosen for the team based upon their scores. A score of 49 or higher earned students First Team honors and they will receive recognition at the eighth-grade celebration.
