Athletic Director, CMS Principal Resignations Official

The board also approved contracts with various staff members.

The unanimously approved a resignation from Alexis Korsak, the athletic director at , without discussion Monday.

According to the agenda, Korsak's resignation is effective June 30.

The board did not discuss her resignation on Monday, and Belding declined to comment, except to say the district would conduct a wide search for her replacement.

At the board meeting on Monday, April 16, Board Member John Nonnenmacher referred to "issues" with Korsak that he attributed to "growing pains."

Korsak was approved as the on Sept. 19, 2011. She was selected from more than 90 candidates for the role and received the unanimous endorsement of the Personnel Committee.

Korsak took over the athletic department after the , who held the position since 1997. She started in the role in January.

The board also approved the resignation of Robert Accardi, the principal of .

Accardi started as an English teacher at Chatham Middle in 1993. He worked as Supervisor of Humanities, assistant principal and principal, all at the middle school.

Board of Education Member Rich Connors said in his experience, Accardi "always put the students first in everything that he did."

Belding said Accardi typically went above and beyond the requirements of his duties, "typically working 12-hour shifts" and "being more than normally dedicated to his students."

The board wished Accardi luck and success in his future endeavors and thanked him for his many years with the district.

Accardi attended the meeting but did not comment, except to thank the board for their kind words and good wishes.
