Water Main Break on Fairmount Cuts Water to Borough Hall, ECLC, Nearby Businesses

The break occurred at 6:20 a.m. and workers will probably have it under control by the evening.

UPDATE: 12:12 p.m. Borough Department of Public Works employees are on the scene of a water main break on Fairmount Avenue that has caused water to be shut off to several key institutions in town.

The break occurred at about 6:20 a.m. today, according to DPW Director Bob Venezia. The 10 inch water main broke near the driveway into the Bank of America on Main Street.

The water main runs up to Red Road. As such, water service to Borough Hall, to the ECLC School and to several nearby businesses has been disrupted. In general, it has been shut off at homes along Fairmount Avenue.
