VIDEO: Nonnenmacher Will 'Run Town Like Business'

Social media, team-building among the candidate's goals.

Laura Ali Nonnenmacher is one of two Republican candidates seeking her party's nomination for the open Committee seat available this May.

Nonnenmacher earned her BA at the University of Rhode Island. After working for Xerox for about 10 years, she branched out into small business ownership. She runs Triple Win Inc. and a franchise called The Alternative Board, where she uses social media groups like Twitter and Facebook to work with other small businesses and provide sales, marketing coaching and strategy planning.

That experience in small business outreach and marketing, she said, could be applied to "raise the level of community awareness" for municipal government.

Nonnenmacher served as the president of the PTO during the 2009-10 school year, where her effords helped the PTO raise $20,000 more than their fundraising goal.

Nonnenmacher has lived in Chatham Township for 19 years. She lives in the township with her husband, Board of Education Member John Nonnenmacher, and three sons.

She describes herself as "a lifelong Morris County resident," one whose retired parents also live in Chatham Township and whose sister lives in with her family.
