VIDEO: Chatham Mayors Help ShopRite Bag Hunger

As part of National Hunger Month, local grocery store recruits officials to help raise awareness.

The mayors of Chatham Borough and Chatham Township, along with members of the Chatham Township Police Department, did their part to raise awareness about local hunger.

Nelson Vaughan of the borough and Nicole Hagner of the township bagged groceries for ShopRite customers in Chatham Township Wednesday as part of the store's "Help Bag Hunger" event. Robert Scheetz and Scott Herchick of the Chatham Township Police Department also donned aprons and helped out.

Assistant Store Manager Scott MacGregor said the store has also held spaghetti dinners, 50/50 raffles, a hot dog wagon and ice cream socials to help raise funds from shoppers to support local food banks.
