Unexpected Snowfall Slickens Roads, Causes Accidents

Snow expected to taper off by the afternoon.

Chatham woke up today to an unexpected snowfall that slickened its roads and made for a difficult morning commute.

The National Weather Service is calling for snow to continue across the region for the next few hours with the potential of one to two inches of accumulation on secondary roads or untreated surfaces. The snow is expected to change to a rain and snow mix before becoming all rain this afternoon.

In the meantime, it has caused a variety of traffic-related issues in Chatham.
