The Chatham Township Committee's reorganization meeting has been rescheduled to 4 p.m. Friday because of a forecast snowstorm.
"After consulting with Mayor Brower, the decision has been made to reschedule the Reorganization Meeting due to the pending weather," Township Clerk Gregory LaConte said Tuesday.
The meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday evening, will be held in the Chatham Township Municipal Building, 58 Meyersville Road.
The five-member governing body is expected to appoint a new mayor for 2014, and Committeeman-elect Curt Ritter and current Deputy Mayor Robert Gallop, who was re-elected to the Committee in November, are expected to be sworn in.
Up to 10 inches possible
The Chatham Township Office of Emergency Management issued an alert Tuesday afternoon about the forecast snow:
The current long range weather forecast for Thursday into Friday afternoon/evening is for a total of 4-8” of snow. There are a few models that currently suggest 5-10” of snow however there seems to be more consistent reports in the 4-8” range at this time. This could change as we get closer to the event.
The Chatham Township OEM will keep you posted on the current status of the storm as more information becomes available.
