Township Polling Places Consolidated in Sandy's Wake

Districts 1 through 5 will vote at the Green Village Fire Department; Districts 6 through 10 will vote at the River Road Fire Department.

Chatham Township Clerk Greg LaConte said the township will combine polling places in the wake of Tropical Storm Sandy, which has left over 3,000 JCP&L customers still without power in the township alone.

According to LaConte, Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 should report to the Green Village Fire Department from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Districts 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 should report to the Chatham Township Fire Department on River Road to vote in Tuesday's election.

"People are responsible for their own transportation," LaConte said.

Due to Sandy's impact, Gov. Chris Christie has extended the deadline for mail-in ballots.

Christie also ordered all county clerks offices to remain open until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to allow county residents to vote in person. In-person voting at the county continues Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
