Township Mayor, Committee Members Write In Endorsements

Hagner, Gallop and Tubbs endorse Brower and Furbish for the Township Committee.

Dear Neighbor:

As many of you undoubtedly know, on June 7th Chatham Township Republican voters will have the responsibility of choosing nominees for the two seats that will be contested this fall on the Chatham Township Committee. With the Republican Primary fast approaching, we are proud to endorse the candidacies of Bailey Brower, Jr. and Jeff Furbish to serve with us on your Township Committee.

We here in Chatham Township have much to be proud of. In spite of onerous state mandates, the 2010 Township Committee passed a budget that represents a 0% increase in municipal taxes over last year. It is largely due to this fiscal conservatism that Chatham Township has been recognized by several publications as one of the premier communities in which to live in not only New Jersey, but the entire country.

This is in no small part due to the tireless efforts of Bailey Brower, Jr., who will be seeking re-election to the Committee. A local businessman, Bailey has been instrumental in a number of issues while on the Township Committee including the upgrade of the Senior Center of the Chathams and the development of a long range plan to maintain our roads as a member of the Public Works Committee.  It is very important that Bailey returns for another term to help us in continuing our work.

With one committee seat being vacated after this year, we enthusiastically urge our fellow Republicans to vote for Jeff Furbish to fill the vacant slot.  For years, Jeff has served our community with distinction as a Planning Board member, Chairman of the Open Space Committee, athletic coach, and volunteer whose three children attended our public schools.

In addition, for the past 25 years Jeff has worked in the Employee Benefits field, experience that will prove invaluable as Chatham Township, like every other community in New Jersey, deals with the spiraling costs of public employee pensions and benefits.

With your help, we know that we can keep Chatham Township on one of the best places to live in New Jersey even the most challenging of economic times. Experience counts.  To that end we ask that when you go to the polls on June 7th you cast your vote for Bailey Brower, Jr., and Jeff Furbish.

Thank you for your support.

Nicole Hagner, Mayor

Robert Gallop, Deputy Mayor

Kevin Tubbs, Former Mayor and Current Committeeman
