Township Begins Debris Pick-up from Sandy

Leaves will not be included in the pick-up.

Chatham Township will begin town-wide collection of storm debris starting Tuesday.

This collection includes only vegetative debris caused by Tropical Storm Sandy.

To leave your debris out for collection, branches and limbs 8 in. or less in diameter and 6 ft. or less in length should be left at the curb.

The collection will not include tree trunks, root balls or leaves.

In the wake of Tropical Storm Sandy, Chatham Township has suspended fees for contractors hired by township residents who wish to dispose of yard waste at the Tanglewood Lane compost facility. Contractors should not ask residents to pay a disposal fee.

There will be only one collection in the township.

Tanglewood will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
