Snow Expected Over Halloween Weekend

Morris County can expect 3-5 inches.

Parents may want to make some adjustments to their children's Halloween costumes.

The National Weather Service predicts snow in Morris County as early as Friday night, with 3-5 inches total expected over the weekend. The snow could last as late as Saturday evening.

John Pacelli, the director of the Chatham Township Department of Public Works, told this reporter, "I swear I just got off the the phone with you about last winter."

Pacelli said that while the salt trucks are ready, "I think the ground is so warm we won't need that." With temperatures predicted over 50 degrees on Sunday, Pacelli said the snow "won't be around long."

His main concern, he said, is the weight of snow on trees, which could cause a danger of falling branches.
