Residents: Brower, Furbish for Committee

Three township families write a Letter to the Editor explaining their decisions for this primary season.

On June 7th, Chatham Township will be asked to fill two town council Committee seats.  Two teams of candidates will be will be looking for our votes and we would like you to consider supporting Bailey Brower and Jeff Furbish for the ticket. 

Bailey and Jeff bring to the position a strong combination of both practical business experience and seasoned dedication to town municipality and service.  Bailey has been a presence in Chatham Township for years whereas his teammate Jeff, would be a positive addition to the political arena.  Jeff has raised his family in Chatham and coached town soccer, basketball and football.

He served on the Open Space Committee and currently is a member of the Town Planning Board.  Professionally, he works for an insurance company in their pension and retirement areas, two issues that will be at the forefront of the town's agenda.  Jeff's knowledge and expertise of these issues will be most beneficial in upcoming deliberations. 

An 9 year veteran of the Township Committee, Bailey Brower has placed Chatham township on the top of his agenda for years.   He has been a been a business man in the area serving on the Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, and Tree Committee. 

Having raised four daughters in Chatham, Bailey has been a firm supporter of promoting a vast array of Chatham sports and recreation for families.  He was involved with the decision to upgrade the tennis courts at Colony and a strong advocate of the Chatham Athletic Foundation's efforts to develop Lum and Shunpike fields.

From a business prospective, he has been adamant about keeping taxes as low as possible for the town. One of his primary goals on the Township Committee has been and continues to be, making the town of Chatham as resident friendly as possible by supporting practical homeowner decisions. 

As a team, Jeff Furbish and Bailey Brower will bring their practical expertise, along with their enthusiasm and passion for Chatham's past, present and future to the Township Committee.
