Parrot Mill Road Properties Sold

Small lots of land along Parrot Mill Road will enhance child care center to be built at the former inn.

The Council approved the sale of two lots of land along Parrot Mill Road to B&B Associates, LLC, who currently own the property.

According to Borough Attorney James Lott, the two lots in question have been in the borough's possession since the 1960s. Due to an oversight, they do not appear on the tax atlas. "I know that visually when you drive down the street, it looks like it's part of the Parrot Mill Inn property," Lott said.

The lots have no current use, and were sold to B&B Associates, LLC. for $1,000. "They are irregularly shaped lots, they are small in size, they were difficult to value," Lott said. "The statute permits the borough to sell [them] for nominal value."

"It's a small parcel. When we get done with the entire project, it'll be a much better project for the town and actually represent more revenue for the town," Council Member James Collander said.

The council also appointed the law firm of Ingelsino, Pearlman, Wyciska & Taylor, LLC to act as special counsel in the ongoing lawsuit against Tricare Treatment Services, LLC.

The borough has employed the services of Denis E. Driscoll, Esq., as the attorney in the Tricare lawsuit. Driscoll previously worked at the law firm of Morrison Mahoney, LLC, but recently moved to Ingelsino, Pearlman, Wyciska & Taylor.

The appointment was made "under the same terms and conditions" as the borough's agreement with Morrison Mahoney.
