Mayor Asks Residents for Feedback on Sandy

Ken Short to host communication discussion Dec. 12.

While township officials have discussed and strategized ways to be more effective in communicating with each other during any natural disasters in the future, Mayor Ken Short is now asking for residents to weigh in.

An area of major concern from the residents after Hurricane Sandy was communication, and Short will host a meeting to receive feedback on how to best provide strong communication avenues to the public.

Short is asking for volunteers to review the township's communication efforts throughout the weeks following the storm.

"The intent is to provide better and more reliable communication channels between the township and residents," Short said in an email to Patch. "All residents that are genuinely interested and can provide constructive suggestions about improving our communication efforts are invited to attend and take part in an open discussion."

The meeting will be held at the Washington Township Municipal Building at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12. Interested residents are asked to email Short at kshort@wtmorris.net.

Jason's it's shameful that you're continuing to with give Republican haters Nedd and Domino and hookerman a platform to bash Mayor Short. I just want to remind everyone that Nedd has been to court twice and convicted of harassment in forums like this. You're feeding a troll. Meanwhile Jason missed the biggest story of the year when the Mansfield Walmart was robbed by two black men using a submachine gun. http://www.nj.com/warrenreporter/index.ssf/2012/11/mansfield_township_police_seek.html

FEED BACK?????? The words of this townships residents have fallen on deaf ears. The mayor would like feed back now? He was not too concerned during the storm, he was not proactive after the previous storms. His excuse that he had travel plans, is ridiculous (I would hope he was smart enough to have trip insurance). My feed back to the mayor is "RESIGN" and take a long vacation. Many people did not like Kevin Nedd when he was in office, but he is the voice of change and actually cares about this township. We need to rethink who is working in the safety and well-being of the residents of Washington Township.

Seems to me Jason that LVP would be better served just publishing each article. A separate Letters to the Editior page could be included instead of the comments, many of which always appear to be just the same worn out rants without offering much that is constructive.
