Letter to the Editor: Vote for Laura Ali Nonnenmacher

A township resident explains why Nonnenmacher gets her vote.

To the editor:

As the June 7th Republican primary quickly approaches in Chatham Township, I wanted to bring attention to candidate Laura Ali Nonnenmacher—especially for those residents who have not had the pleasure of knowing or working with this dynamic individual.

As a Chatham Township resident for almost 12 years with four children in the school district, I have known Laura on a professional and personal level for more than four years and have worked with her on numerous committees at the Southern Boulevard School.

Never have I met a person with more heart, initiative, integrity, business savvy, an ability to think outside the box, a willingness to speak her mind, an effectiveness at working with disparate groups, and the skill to effortlessly motivate those around her to achieve a common goal.

As PTO president, she’d take the issue at hand and tackle it head on, with less of an emphasis on how “it’s been done in the past.” A successful, logical outcome was her greater concern, without the need to divide. She’s the mother of three, a small business owner, and the daughter of Township residents, giving her the unique opportunity to take on the immediate concerns of education, seniors and economic issues without making these topics mutually exclusive or competitive.

These qualities would not only serve her well on the Township committee, but they’d enable her to serve our entire town well as we face many challenging economic times ahead.

A vote for Laura Ali Nonnenmacher would be a vote for the future of Chatham Township—for all age groups and backgrounds.
