Letter to the Editor: Please Vote

Borough Councilman Bruce Harris urges residents to vote on Tuesday.

To the editor:

Tomorrow is Election Day, and, although things have been quiet on the Chatham Borough Council election front, I want to encourage Borough voters to get out there and vote.  In addition to contests at the national and county levels, Borough voters have an opportunity to express their views on an important local issue:  whether we should undertake a renovation of the municipal pool.

A few residents have asked me how the Council wants them to vote on this issue, and my response has consistently been that we want to know how Borough voters feel about this issue.  A lot of work has gone into studying the options regarding the municipal pool, and it is extremely important that Borough voters consider the information that has been provided and vote.

And, while you're in the voting booth, vote for Jim Collander and Vicki Fife for Borough Council.  Jim has been a great leader, particularly in the areas of budget/finance, recreation and traffic safety, and the Borough will benefit from his continued service.  Vicki has been an active member of the community, focusing on our education system and the Borough will benefit from her applying her enthusiasm and leadership to municipal government matters.

Please take the time to vote on Tuesday, November 2nd.
