Len Resto Chosen as Borough Council President

Former Council President James Lonergan nominated Resto for the role.

In the Chatham Borough Council's first meeting of 2013, Councilman Leonard Resto was unanimously selected to serve as the council president.

Resto, along with John Holman, was sworn in for his second full term on the council Monday evening. The two were re-elected to the council in November, both for three-year terms. He has served as the liaison to the Green Initiatives Committee, the Environmental Commission, the Public Arts Council, the Community Garden Committee and the Open Space and Historical Trust Advisory Committee.

Resto was nominated by Councilman James Lonergan, who has served as council president for the past two years. The role of president expires on Dec. 31 of this year.
