Borough Vendor's Green Bags Go 'Green'

B&B Disposal now offers eco-friendly garbage bags for Chatham Borough residents.

Trash can be a messy business, but as of this Monday, Chatham Borough residents can make their trash a little bit greener.

The borough's waste management vendor, B&B Disposal, recently arranged for biodegradable trash bags to become available to borough residents.

The borough uses a Pay-As-You-Throw initiative, wherein residents pay for particular garbage bags used to dispose of non-recyclable waste. Residents must use particular trash bags for their garbage to be carted away. The purpose of the program is to encourage residents to reduce waste and recycle as much as possible.
