Former Councilman Endorses Harris

Richard Crater and his wife Doris write in their endorsement.

To the Editor:

Doris and I are happy to endorse for Mayor of Chatham Borough. I served with Bruce on the town council for five years. During this time he has demonstrated exceptional attributes.

There is a substantial difference between hearing and listening. Bruce listens with open ears, an open mind, and an open heart.  Bruce is an effective communicator always exploring issues and effectively driving collaboration.  He is aware of the concerns of others and takes responsibility in making sure Chatham Borough is governed in a nonpartisan way.

Bruce cares about the quality of life issues for all residents. He has promoted shared services with neighboring towns, which has kept our tax increases to a minimum. Bruce is a leading force on the Chatham Environmental Commission and passionate about Chatham’s green spaces. Bruce Harris is a remarkable person. He is someone you would be proud to call your Mayor of Chatham Borough.

Please join Doris and I in voting for Bruce on Nov. 8.
