Chatham School Board Candidates to Speak and Take Questions

Come meet, listen to and ask questions of the candidates for Chatham Board of Education at the upcoming candidate forum to be hosted by the League of Women Voters Chatham Madison Area.  The event will be held at 7:30 pm, Thursday, April 21st in the Media Center/Library at Chatham High School, 255 Lafayette Avenue. 

Two Chatham Borough seats, each for a three year term on the Board are up for election on Wed. April 27th.  The candidates are the incumbent, Richard Connors and challengers Albert Bozzo, Jeffrey Truppo, and Jill Critchley-Weber. 

In addition, there will be a contest for one Chatham Township seat, for a three year term. Running will be Alan Routh, the incumbent, and challenger Kim Cronin.  There is an uncontested Chatham Township seat for a one year term.  The only candidate for that seat is Lata Kenney, the incumbent.

The format for the event will include opening and closing statements by the candidates and written and oral questions submitted by the audience members. Catherine Sorge, a League of Women Voters trained moderator, will preside over the event.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend.  Voter registration materials and mail-in voting ballot applications will also be available.  The League of Women Voters Chatham Madison Area is a non-partisan, non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in government.  The League does not support or oppose any political party or candidate.  For information, call 973-665-0011.
