Chatham Township to Post Draft Ordinances, Resolutions Online

Township Committee to vote on resolution Thursday night in an effort to increase transparency.

The Chatham Township Committee has begun posting links on the municipal website to draft ordinances and resolutions under consideration in an effort to increase transparency, officials announced Wednesday.

"In an effort to increase transparency between the Committee and township residents, we have decided to provide hyperlinks to the related draft ordinances and resolutions that are under consideration on the township website in advance of our meetings," Mayor Kevin Sullivan said.

“While this practice is not typical of many municipalities, we believe this is good governance at its best and will help our residents understand the important work of the Committee and how their tax dollars are being spent.”

The Chatham Township Committee generally meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the township municipal building. The Committee is expected to vote Thursday night on a resolution that will require inserting the links to the draft ordinances and resolutions on the municipal website.
