Chatham Jaycees Give $1,300 in Grant Money

The beneficiaries are various committees within Chatham Borough.

The Chatham Borough Council will vote on several adjustments to the 2011 borough budget on Monday, including $1,300 in grants from the Chatham Jaycees.

Most of the adjustments are small, amounting to about $500 each. They include:

$539.35 from the state's Alcohol Education, Rehabilitation and Enforcement Funds;

$500 in grant money to the Chatham Borough Farmers Market from the Chatham Jaycees;

$300 in grant money for the Mayor's Wellness Campaign from the Chatham Jaycees;

$500 in grant money toward the Shade Tree Commission from the Chatham Jaycees;

$550 for the Green Fair.

The council will also vote on new equipment for the , including a new unmarked car and an in-car new digital video system.

Another resulution, Resolution #11-251, combines several improvement bonds into one general improvement bond amounting in $5,819,000. The bond moneys will go toward funding improvements to the Chatham Borough Municipal Pool; the expansion of the parking lot at the ; turf field improvements at Lum Avenue Field; and the reconstruction of Van Doren Avenue, Woodlawn Avenue and Elmwood Avenue, among other projects.
