Borough to Conduct Traffic Study

Study will address congestion near Milton Avenue Elementary School.

The borough will conduct a traffic study in an effort to reduce congestion near Milton Avenue Elementary School at the beginning and end of the school day.

The study is intended to explore a variety of options that would reduce congestion in the area. The congestion has put lots of children and cars in the same place in the same time in the morning and in the afternoon, something that borough officials said they would like remedied.

The borough has contracted with Neglia Engineering to do the study for $4,730.

"This is a good problem with our town," council member John Holman said at a council meeting Jan. 25. "It shows that our town is still growing."

Borough Engineer Vincent DeNave said he is coordinating the study. He will provide Neglia with existing traffic data and will set up meetings with police, and will also listen to input from concerned citizens.
