Boro Expected to Appoint CFO as Purchasing Agent

Municipal CFO likely to gain additional responsibilities.

The Council is expected to vote Monday on an ordinance for a new purchasing agent and appoint the municipality's current CFO to the position at no additional cost.

The agent will be responsible for purchasing activity for public contracts, including advertising, receiving of bids and proposals, establishing local purchasing policies and the enforcement thereof.

Having an agent also allows the borough to "take advantage of the higher bid threshold," according to the ordinance.
