About 25 Vendors Expected at Green Fair

With only four members in attendance, the Environmental Commission holds informal meeting.

With only four members in attendance, the Chatham Borough Environmental Commission meeting was a bit informal Wednesday night. Despite the unofficial meeting, commission members did discuss a few topics, including the fourth annual .

The fair is scheduled for Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is hosted by the Chatham Borough Environmental Commission, the Chatham Township Environmental Commission and the Chatham Borough Green Initiatives Committee.

The commission discussed on Thursday the vendors expected to participate. In all, the committee estimated about 25 vendors will participate.

Peapack Gladstone Bank, a sponsor of the Green Fair, will be among the vendors at the event. The bank will also hold a paper shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon. Pure2o water filtration company has also committed to participate in the event.

The event will also be catered by Pascarella Brothers Delicatessen, a local eatery in Chatham that opened last year.

The committee also discussed the participation of the area’s Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Board Chairman John Tancredi also discussed the possibility of Vespa, a company that produces scooters, to participate, although they have yet to send in their paperwork.

The next meeting of the Chatham Borough Environmental Commission will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
