4 Republicans Challenge for 2 Township Committee Seats

GOP incumbents to run unopposed in the borough council race.

Four Republicans will challenge for two open seats on the Chatham Township Committee.

Incumbent Kathy Abbott will be joined by Planning Board member Karen Swartz, Environmental Commission member Michael Kelly and former township prosecutor Peter Fico in the June 3 Republican primary.

Veteran Committee Member Bailey Brower Jr. is not seeking re-election.

No Democrats filed in Chatham Township or in Chatham Borough where Republican incumbents James Lonergan and Gerald Helfrich will run unopposed for the two open council seats.

The filing deadline was 4 p.m. Monday.
