Woman Injured in 4-Car Chain Reaction Crash

Police issued summons to a Chatham woman for careless driving.

A Madison woman was transported to Morristown Medical Center after a four-car accident in Chatham Wednesday.

Patrolman Wayne Shivers investigated a four-car accident on Main Street near Brooklake Road shortly after 4 p.m., according to police.

Shivers found a 2010 GMC driven by Anna Coviello, 55, of Chatham, was traveling westbound when she crashed into the back of a stopped car, police said.

That car was pushed into the car in front of it, which, in turn, was pushed into a fourth car which was stopped in front of it, according to police.

The drivers of the other three cars were Marilyn Burack, 53, of Livingston, Meredith Gondo, 35, of Madison, and Kalliope DeCavalles, 77, of Madison, police said.

Gondo was transported to Morristown Medical Center when she complained of pain, police said.

Coviello was issued a summons for careless driving, according to police.
