Teaching Bike Safety at PBA Event, and Enjoying Some Tricks Too

The event featured demonstrations, helmet fittings, a stunt biker and refreshments.

The borough's Police Benevolent Association hosted a bicycle safety day at Chatham Middle School Saturday that featured adults and children riding around the parking lot, equipped with properly fitted helmets. But they all took a break to watch BMX stuntman Chris Clark pop some wheelies and do a few tricks along the way.

Clark did some tricks during the three-hour event, which was held so children could learn the basics of bike safety. Representatives from Bikeland II were on hand to help children get their helmets fitted properly and to supervise the goings-on.

A donated bicycle and a gift certificate were raffled off, and refreshments were provided.
