Summons Issued in 2-Car Accident

No injuries were reported in the accident Friday evening.

The issued one summons in a two-car accident that occurred Friday evening.

At 7:24 p.m. on Friday, March 9, Patrolman Andrew Chase investigated the two-car accident at the intersection of Fairmount Avenue and Chatham Street, police said.

A 2008 Jaguar driven by George Underwood, 71, of Chatham was attempting to turn left from Fairmount Avenue onto Chatham Street, police said.

Underwood struck a 2010 Cooper driven by Kathryn West, 48, of Chatham, who was waiting at the stop sign on Chatham Street, according to police.

There were no injuries reported and both cars were driven from the scene, police said.

Underwood was issued a summons for careless driving, police said.
