Stolen Maplewood Truck Found in Chatham

Vehicle recovered in parking lot on Monday morning.

A truck from South Orange Disposal Co. in Maplewood was found in Chatham Monday, Chatham Borough Police said.

Patrolman Daryle Kelly responded to Post Office Plaza on Monday at approximately 8 a.m., after receiving a report that a stolen car was parked there, according to police.

The vehicle was a pick-up truck belonging to South Orange Disposal Co., police said. Kelly contacted the owner of the company, Craig Miele, and told him the truck was parked in the lot, police said.

Miele said that this truck had been stolen from his company's lot in Maplewood on March 19, police said.

There appeared to be no damage to the truck and Miele believes that a former employee may have made an extra key and could be responsible for the theft, according to police.
