Soliciting Illegally in the Borough

Police arrest man who was also soliciting last year.

Borough police arrested a man Saturday after determining he was illegally soliciting in the area.

Police said solicitor Jonathan Gilbert was spotted on Essex Road at about 5 p.m. by an officer who recognized him from last summer, when police responded to a complaint of an illegal solicitor. Gilbert was soliciting without a permit and had outstanding warrants from other towns, according to police.

Police arrested Gilbert for soliciting without a permit and took him to police headquarters, where he satisfied bail for the warrants. He was released.
