Short Hills Cyclist Injured in Fall

The cyclist was wearing her helmet.

said Sgt. Scott O'Connor and Patrolman Joseph Crecca responded to the intersection of Fairmount Avenue and 2nd Street on report of a bicyclist who fell.

The cyclist was Debby Thompson, 58, of Short Hills, police said. She was riding north on Fairmount Avenue when she attempted to turn right on to 2nd Street, according to police.

Thompson was apparently traveling too fast and lost control of the bicycle, police said.

She was wearing a helmet and suffered head and face injuries, according to police.

Thomspon was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the Chahtam Emergency Squad, police said.
