Jose Feliciano, the accused murderer of the Rev. Edward Hinds, was transferred to the Morris County Correctional Facility Tuesday evening, according to County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi.

Bianchi said in a news release that Feliciano is being held at the jail on $1 million bail. According to a Star-Ledger report, Feliciano was moved to the jail from the Ann Klein Forensic Center, which is a psychiatric hospital in Trenton.

He arrived at the jail at 7pm, according to Bianchi.

Feliciano stands accused of killing Hinds, who was the pastor at St. Patrick's Church in the borough. He was the church's janitor.

Hinds was found the morning of Oct. 23 in the church's kitchen stabbed to death after he did not show up for Friday morning Mass. Police then began a day-and-a-half long manhunt for the killer that ended Oct. 24 when they arrested Feliciano.

Feliciano had initially attempted to assist police after the murder happened by attempting to perform CPR on Hinds after he was found in the church kitchen.

"There's nothing we can do," he had said after making several attempts to resuscitate Hinds. After that, police became suspicious.

The county Prosecutor's Office presented each member of the Chatham Borough Police Department with an award at the borough's Dec. 14 meeting to thank the department for its help in finding the accused killer.

The news release said the investigation into the case is still ongoing. Those with information are asked to contact the county Prosecutor's Office at 973-285-6200.

Church officials also said the church has a new pastor. Details are on their way.
