Police: Township Resident Arrested for DUI

Thomas Lane, 22, was arrested after he rear-ended another car, according to police.

A township resident was arrested for driving under the influence after the car he was driving hit another vehicle on Wednesday, according to township police.

Police said they responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Runnymede Road at 1 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they said, they learned that one vehicle had struck the rear of another that was stopped to drop off a passenger. No injuries were reported.

Police said they subsequently conducted field sobriety tests of Thomas Lane, 22, of Chatham Township., who had been driving the rear vehicle. They said they subsequently arrested him for driving under the influence and for careless driving.

Mr. Lane was transported to police headquarters, processed and released pending a court appearance.
