Police: Juveniles Caused Mischief in Township

Youths damaged mailboxes, removed window screens from Colony Pool building, according to police.

One 17-year old and two 16-year olds damaged neighborhood mailboxes and removed Colony Pool window screens this week, according to township police.

Police said they originally became aware of the matter when they responded to a report at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday of someone ringing the doorbell at a Dale Drive home and then leaving. Police said they then observed footprints in the snow and followed them.

While following the tracks, police said, they saw damaged mailboxes on Floral Street and School Avenue. They continued to follow the tracks through backyards and across roadways to an area near Kings Road in the borough where they saw several youths, according to police.

Police said two of the juveniles were arrested with the help of borough police and were transported back to township police headquarters. A third juvenile got away, but during a follow-up investigation police said they learned that juvenile's identity. The juvenile then came to police headquarters with a parent.

Police said they also learned the group had pulled window screens off a building at Colony Pool.
