Police Arrest Drunk Driver in Township

Driver was attempting to move his car off of a median.

Township police arrested a man for driving while under the influence after they found him attempting to move his car from a median.

Police said Thomas Jones Jr., of Green Village Road, Madison, had backed over and gotten hung up on a median on Tuesday at 3:35 p.m. near Hickory Tree Pizza. When police arrived, Jones was attempting to move his vehicle off of the median.

After a short investigation, police said, they arrested Jones and charged him with driving while under the influence and careless driving.

Township police also said the township fire department responded to a Hilltop Terrace home on Sunday after a clothes dryer was smoking. They said it is always important to clean out the dryer vent to avoid fire hazards.
