No Injuries in Car Accident

Police issued a summons after driver lost control.

said there were no injuries after a driver lost control of his car on Watchung Avenue Thursday.

At 9:57 a.m., patrols responded to the intersection of Fairmount Avenue and Watchung Avenue on a reported motor vehicle accident with a pole down, police said.

Brian Tevald, 20, of Pittstown, NJ, was driving a 1996 Jeep east on Watchung Avenue when he lost control of his car, according to police.

Tevald's car crossed the westbound lane of traffic and struck a fire hydrant, utility pole and traffic light pole, police said.

Tevald was not injured and was issued a summons for careless driving, according to police.

He was released pending further court action, police said.
