Newark Woman Arrested for Alleged Drunk Driving

The following information was obtained directly from the Chatham Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The arrested a Newark woman Saturday for allegedly driving while intoxicated along Shunpike Road.

Officer Kelly Sretenovic stopped a vehicle on Shunpike Road at 3:17 a.m. Saturday for a speeding violation, according to police.

A subsequent roadside investigation by Sretenovic determined the driver, Iesha Clinton, 30, of Newark was operating her vehicle while intoxicated, police said.

Clinton was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and processed, according to police.

She was later released to a friend on her own recognizance, police said.

Clinton is shceduled to appear in municipal court on Jan. 24, according to police.
