Newark Man Arrested in Twp. on Outstanding Warrant

released information on a warrant arrest and a reported theft in a statement Thursday.

Patrolmen Kelly Sretenovic and David Weinert arrested Monikk Majors, 44, of Newark at approximately 1:26 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

Majors was arrested on outstanding warrants totaling $3,373 issued by the Joint Court of Chatham Township, Chatham Borough, Madison and Harding, police said.

The warrants were issued for her arrest in 2008 when she failed to appear in court on criminal charges, according to police.

Majors was unable to post bail and was subsequently transported to Morris County Jail in default.

Theft Reported

On Oct. 3 at approximately 6:09 p.m., a Pine Street resident reported to police that a cell phone, music CDs and a gym bag were stolen from his unlocked vehicle, police said.

The theft happened sometime between 10 p.m. on Sept. 26 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 27 as the car sat in the resident's driveway, police said.
