Multiple Charges for Berkeley Heights Teen

The 19-year-old was allegedly driving while under the influence.

A Berkeley Heights teen was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Chatham Township, police said.

According to the police report, Township Patrolman David Weinert observed what he thought was a disabled vehicle in the 400 block of River Road on Sunday at 1:23 a.m.

Weinert determined upon further examination that a single motor vehicle accident had occurred, police said.

Weinert's investigation resulted in the arrest of Anthony Orozco, 19, of Berkeley Heights for driving while intoxicated, according to the report.

Orozco was transported to police headquarters, where he refused to submit samples of his breath, police said.

Orozco was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, careless driving and refusal to submit a breath sample, according to the report.

Police said that Orozco was processed and later released on his own recognizance to a family member. He is scheduled for court on Feb. 8, according to the report.
