Multiple Charges for Alleged Drunk Driver

The following arrest information was supplied by the Chatham Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Chatham Township Police said Tuesday that they arrested a Morristown man for driving while intoxicated on Saturday, July 16.

Police said that at approximately 11:24 p.m. Saturday, Patrolman Anthony Loporto stopped a vehicle traveling on Shunpike Road with heavy front end damage for traveling at a speed well below the posted limit.

After a roadside investigation, Loporto arrested Jason Untracht, 29, of Morristown for driving while intoxicated, police said.

Untracht was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on Sunday, police said.

Untracht was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, failure to report an accident, failure to exhibit a license/registration/insurance card and operating an unsafe vehicle, police said.

It was not known at the time of the report where the accident that caused the damage to Untracht's car had occurred, according to the police report.

Untracht is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 9, police said.
