May Police Roundup: Police Arrest People for Cocaine Possession, Traffic-Related Offenses

Police also arrested teens for removing signs from street corners.

Township police arrested teens this month for removing signs from street corners and arrested a woman for crack cocaine possession.

The following is the Chatham Township police roundup for May:

- Olivier Blanco-Rojas was arrested and charged with driving while suspended May 3 after a license plate check indicated his license had been suspended.

- Robinson Osorio, of West Orange, was working in the township area when he learned there was a warrant out in his name. He went to police headquarters May 3 and turned himself in on a warrant in the amount of $1,035. He was processed and released on bail.

- Erin Lundstrom, of Riveredge Drive in the township, was arrested May 13 after police learned her driving privileges had been suspended. She was stopped by police after they noticed her brake light was out.

- A taxi driver was driving a purported cab to a home on Green Village Road May 16 when he was stopped for speeding. Police said they discovered the vehicle's registration had been suspended and found there was no insurance on the cab. The driver was given a verbal warning and cab's owner, Abdeslam Motassim, was charged with allowing an unregistered and uninsured vehicle to be operated and with operating a cab without a license.

- An Avon Court resident told police May 18 their car had been burglarized overnight. The resident told police two side lights had been removed, some engine components had been taken and some personal items were stolen from the inside of the car.

- Police said they learned Shawn Henry, of Bayonne, was wanted for a $3,000 warrant out of Bayonne May 19 after he appeared in municipal court for a traffic ticket. He was taken into custody.

- Police said they responded to Chatham High School May 20 after $212 was reported missing from a cafeteria cash register overnight. No force was used, according to police.

- On May 20, according to police, a River Road resident reported their mailbox had been stolen.

- A Heritage Drive resident also reported May 20 that a china set had been stolen from their garage within the past five days.

- Seven teens were arrested and charged with criminal mischief May 21 after police said they took a street sign and post from the intersection of Fairfax Terrace and Edgewood Drive and a street sign and post from the intersection Shunpike Road and Falmouth Road.

Brian McFadden, 19, of Beech Court; Kyle Haggens, 19, of North Hillside Avenue; Gregory Mulvaney, 19, of Center Avenue; Ryan Carlin, 19, of Shunpike Road, Green Village; Samuel Booker, 18, of Lafayette Avenue; Kyle Trebour, 18, of Tallmadge Avenue; and Conor Ferguson, 18, of Oliver Street were all charged.

- Ann Stratton, of Murray Hill, was arrested for driving under the influence and speeding after she was stopped on Loantaka Way on Saturday.

- Two people were arrested Sunday after police pulled a car over for having lights out and discovered one of the passengers had crack cocaine.

Police said they found the driver, John A. Mortarulo of Scotch Plains, had his license revoked. The car's passenger, Rasheida R. Knight, of Edison had crack cocaine in her purse, according to police, and there were several open containers of alcohol in the car as well.

Mortarulo was charged with failure to maintain lamps, driving while suspended and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Knight was charged possession of CDS, possession of paraphernalia and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. She was released after posting bail.

- Jee Yen Se, of Fort Lee, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant after police were investigating an accident at Meyersville Drive and Lisa Drive. Se was one of the drivers involved in the accident, and police said they found a Cliffside Park traffic warrant had been issued for her.

- A Riveredge Drive resident reported Wednesday that an emblem had been stolen from their new Audi.

- Julio Perez, of Morristown, was arrested and charged with charged with driving while revoked, driving without a license, and failure to inspect his vehicle.

Police said Perez's car had an expired inspection sticker. They said they later discovered that a warrant had been issued by Morris Township for Perez and said his license had been suspended.
