A convicted sex offender living in Madison has been found guilty for failure to register under Megan's Law, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.

Mark T. DeBiasse, 50, was found guilty in a non-jury trial before Judge Mary Gibbons Whipple.

DeBiasse, who was convicted in 1996 in Union County for endangering the welfare of a child, was required to re-register each year as a condition of his Megan's Law supervision, the prosecutor's office said.

DeBiasse is not the same Mark DeBiasse who is the supervisor of humanities at Madison High School, First Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Zelante said.

Madison Police Detective Ed Mitchko arrested Mark T. DeBiasse on March 16, 2010 when he failed to register on March 4, 2010, the prosecutor's office said.

DeBiasse was indicted on May 4, 2010 and waited until April 7, 2014 when a bench trial was conducted. The judge's decision was released on Tuesday.

DeBiasse, who faces 18 months in state prison, remains in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending sentencing on Aug. 22.

DeBiasse was also charged in 2012 with three counts of child endangerment for allegedly having "sexual chats" with children as young as 13 and sharing pornographic photos of children under 16, according to NJ.com.

This pervert used to frequent Rosedale baseball fields when I was a child. He had a stuffed animal monkey that he used to show to all the children. I remember very vividly my mother telling me to stay away from him.

Just keep in mind that this pervert was caught, tried, and convicted. How many in your neighborhood go undetected for years!!! Totally scary! Speak to your children everyday about the tricks of predator, that they don't all look like monsters, and that they can only trust their parents.
