Vandalism Committed By Four Males, Cameras Show

Police released photos from Chatham High School's security cameras.

Det. Christopher Slayton sent three photos from security cameras at from the night the school's mosaic cougar was vandalized.

The cameras show four males, but Slayton said, "You can't tell who they are."

Patrolman Kelly Sretenovic noticed the head of the cougar broken off from the main statue and laying in pieces on the ground while on patrol at about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20.

Timestamps in the footage show the vandalism took place at about 1:20 a.m.

Slayton asked that anyone with information about the incident contact him at the Chatham Township Police Department at 973-377-0100. At this time, Slayton said, there is no reward offered.

The cougar was a class project by the Advanced Placement Art students completed in 2010.

According to the police report, Sretenovic also noticed "broken Corona beer bottles and spilt beer on the ground near the front entrance [of the high school] and statue."

Darren Groh, the principal at , said this year's AP art class "" to replace the damaged statue.
