E. Orange Man Arrested on Two Warrants

Chatham Township police arrested the 39-year-old on warrants from Readington Municipal Court and Essex County Superior Court.

Chatham Township Police arrested an East Orange man on an outstanding warrant from the Readington Municipal Court, according to a press release Thursday.

On Wednesday, Patrolman Michael Sawyer stopped a vehicle on Shunpike Road for a motor vehicle investigation, according to police.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Angel Perez, age 39, of East Orange, was observed not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

A subsequent computer check determined that Perez had an outstanding warrant from the Readington Municipal Court for $1,000 on an unknown charge, and a No Bail warrant issued by the Essex County Superior Court for nonpayment of child support, according to police.

Perez was arrested, processed and turned over to the Essex County Sheriff's Department, police said.
