2 Injured After Driver Loses Control on Icy Road

A car accident resulted in two injuries.

Two Summit women were taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital Thursday after their cars collided when one woman lost control driving on ice, police said.

Chatham Borough Patrolman Jeffrey Battiloro investigaed a motor vehicle accident on Lafayette Avenue near Meadowbrook Road Thursady at approximately 9:20 a.m., according to a police statement.

Police said that a 1997 Honda driven by Andrea Sullivan, 34, of Summit was traveling south on Lafayette Avenue when she lost control on the icy roadway.

Sullivan's car struck a 2008 Toyota driven by Andrea Stein, 40, of Summit, which was traveling north on Lafayette Avenue, police said.

According to the statement, Sullivan suffered lower leg injuries and Stein suffered a chest injury.

Both drivers were transported by the Chatham Emergency Squad to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said, and no summonses were issued.
