Driver in Rollover Accident Arrested for DWI

Chatham Township resident Patrick Kugelman was arrested.

Chatham Township police arrested the driver of a car involved in a rollover accident early Friday for driving while intoxicated.

Police said Patrick Kugelman, 18, of Chatham Township, was removed from the vehicle, which had rolled over at Lafayette Avenue and Lenape Trail at about 12:42 a.m. Friday. According to police, he refused medical treatment.

Police then said they arrested Kugelman for driving while intoxicated after police had determined he had consumed alcohol prior to the accident. An open bottle of vodka and suspected marijuana were found at the scene, according to police.

Kugelman was transported to police headquarters and processed. Police said he was released to a family member pending an August court date.
