Driver Hits Pedestrian in Local Cafe Parking Lot

No summonses issued for the incident this past Sunday.

Chatham Borough police investigated a driver who knocked over a pedestrian with his car in the parking lot of Café Beethoven on Main Street on Sunday Aug. 22.

Police said that Mark P. Drouet of Florham Park did not see Gretchen Giacomaro walking in the parking lot because of heavy rains that day. Drouet hit Giacomaro with a 2008 BMW and knocked her to the ground, according to police. Giacomaro, a resident of Morris Plains, sustained minor injuries to her legs but did not require medical attention at the scene.

A press release from the Chatham Borough Police Department said that no summonses were issued as a result of this incident.
