Downed Wire Causes Tanglewood Outage

Fire department officials had no estimate for how long it would take before JCP&L arrived on the scene.

The Chatham Township Fire Department responded to Tanglewood Lane Thursday when a power wire fell and caused an outage in surrounding homes.

Matt Chase of the Chatham Township Fire Department said the wire fell at about 6:30 p.m.

At least one block near the downed wire at 15 Tanglewood Ln. lost power, and Chase said other homes in the neighborhood could also be affected.

The wire was not touching the roadway and did not pose a danger to pedestrians or motor vehicle traffic.

Chase said there was no estimated arrival time for JCP&L to come and fix the wire. "It could be anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours," he said.
